Fireworks!

A while back I agreed to work this weekend, thinking the Aces would be in town and of course that meant Chris would be working, too. What I didn't think about was that I would be working in the day, getting off right around the time Chris left for the ballpark. So, since Friday night, I have seen Chris for a total of about 30 minutes. Boo.

Luckily, my friends invited me down to the lake when I got off work on the Fourth. I admit I went reluctantly, I was whining a bit about driving down late in the day to a spot I'd never been, not being able to find a place to park, crowds, blah, blah, blah. I did find a place to park, and even though it was really, ridiculously crowded, I had a great time hanging out with Erin, Vickie and Sandor and enjoyed a bit of people-watching. (Most absurd moment: watching people do vodka intranasally. Think about it.) The fireworks were pretty amazing, because they were fired off from the lake and we were pretty close to the shore - we were laying down on a blanket and it sometimes seemed like they were falling right down on us. (Confession: Vickie and I got a little scared a couple times.)

So, here are a couple pictures and a little video for those of you who might have missed seeing a fireworks show. Hope you all had a great weekend!

I can't get over the fact that you are wearing a bathing suit and cover up in one picture and then the next you are in a sweatshirt, on the 4th of JULY! Laura did the same. It just boggles my mind. Glad you had a good time.

It's not 100 degrees when the sun goes down here, like where you live, Leia! I even take socks when we go to the outside movies :)

Living in this hot, steamy climate I was confused by the sweatshirts too ....
